Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Joriyan Bates is a passionate film and television graduate from DePaul University, where he earned his BFA in Film & Television with a concentration in Directing and was regularly recognized on the Dean’s List. His love for storytelling began at age nine and evolved through hands-on experience both in front of and behind the camera — shaping his versatile understanding of performance, pacing, and production.
Joriyan has supported a wide range of projects from independent films and festival programming to digital campaigns and studio internships. His background includes editing demo reels and web series, coordinating production logistics, and providing script coverage and marketing analysis for Branded Pictures Entertainment and the DTLA Film Festival.
Known for his keen eye for narrative detail, he has analyzed over a dozen scripts to identify market potential and creative viability.
With strong technical fluency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Logic Pro X, and
Movie Magic, paired with real-world experience in budgeting, social media strategy, and media management, Joriyan thrives in environments that merge creative production and operational efficiency.
